Skills and economic inclusion
Understanding training demand, barriers to enterprise and pathways to decent livelihoods.
We use community experience and field evidence to strengthen programme design, dialogue and accountability.
During the first quarter of 2026, TCEI undertook field engagement with refugees and host-community members in Nakivale Refugee Settlement. A detailed analysis of 2,000 responses examined practical skills, livelihood opportunities and challenges affecting daily life.
Women accounted for 1,496 of those analysed responses (74.8%). Field observations and interviews also highlighted barriers relating to water access, sanitation and healthcare services.
These findings help guide priorities for research, community engagement and programme development.
